Leonardo Di Caprio has finally spoken up on his continued snub by the Academy of Motion Picture Science and Arts, threatening to boycott the Prestigious Oscars indefinitely and retire if he is denied an Oscar again this year.
The Actor, who is once again receiving rave reviews on the back of his Stellar performance in "The Revenant" has become somewhat of an object of ridicule popular culture as a result of his failure to win an Oscar. Many have failed to comprehend how the talented actor is yet to have an Oscar in his kitty, despite numerous memorable performances in movies such as Titanic, Inception, Wolf of Wall Street and The Aviator.
As the Oscars draw ever nearer, the actor himself has finally spoken up, calling being repeatedly rebuffed by the Academy "Shameful, Distasteful, Disgraceful" and "Not what the people want".
In an exclusive chat with American Magazine USMonthly, the actor tore at the Academy, saying if he is denied an oscar again this year, he would boycott the awards indefinitely and maybe, consider retirement.
"I am sick of being ignored, sick of being told I am not good enough by a bunch of people who sit down and make stupid decisions. I will not be denied. And if I am denied, that that's it. No more. No more attending this stupid show, no more making appearances, hell maybe no more acting. The people would love that, wouldn't they? I've seen them. Seen them mocking me on social media. Seen them belittle my work. With their memes and pictures. We'll that will all end. I have better things to do. I have an environment to save. Climate change to tackle. To my real supporters, they will always have my love, but they know this has to be done".
As at press time the Academy could not be reached to comment on Leonardo's outburst, so we eagerly await Oscar night.
